Transcript
In this tutorial you will handle requests from members who want a copy of their data, or want it deleted. You need the free WP Career Board plugin, installed and active. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Open Settings, Privacy. Export a member's data. Erase a member's data. See what members can ask for. Then watch pending deletions. Step one. Open Settings, Privacy. Go to Career Board, then Settings, and click Privacy. It has two lists, and both are empty on this site. Pending account deletions shows members waiting to be deleted. The Privacy request log records every export and erase request this plugin has handled. Step two. Export a member's data. Go to Tools, then Export Personal Data. Enter the member's username or email, and click Send Request. WordPress emails them to confirm. Their file then includes everything the job board holds about them, such as their profile and applications. Step three. Erase a member's data. Tools, Erase Personal Data, works the same way. Enter the member, and click Send Request. Their applications are kept for the employer's records, without their name, email, letter or files. A ban on the account is kept for safety. Step four. See what members can ask for. Signed in as a member, open Settings in the dashboard, and scroll to Privacy and My Data. Request data export sends you the same request as step two. Delete my account signs them out and deletes the account after fourteen days. Step five. Watch pending deletions. Back in Settings, Privacy, each member waiting to be deleted is listed with the date and the time left. They can stop it by signing back in. If they contact you instead, click Keep account on their row. That is all five. Open Settings, Privacy, export a member's data, erase a member's data, see what members can ask for, and watch pending deletions. You can now handle privacy and account deletion requests.
