Transcript
In this tutorial you will help Google list your jobs, and make links to your jobs look right when people share them. You need the free WP Career Board plugin, installed and active. It takes about three minutes. There are five steps. Check Google for Jobs is on. Give every job a location. Set a country on each location. Check sharing tags. Then see the share buttons. Step one. Check Google for Jobs is on. Go to Career Board, then Settings, Jobs, and scroll to Search engines and sharing. Google for Jobs is on to start with. It adds job details search engines read to every open job. It stays on beside Yoast SEO and Rank Math. Step two. Give every job a location. Google leaves out jobs with no location unless they are remote. New sites start with Require a location on. Older sites may have it off. Turn it on, and a job cannot be posted without a location or the remote option. Default country is used for every address. Empty uses the country of your site language. Step three. Set a country on each location. If your jobs are in more than one country, open Career Board, Job Locations, and edit each location. Enter the country, by name or two letter code, then click Update. Here, Toronto has C A, the code for Canada. Step four. Check sharing tags. Back in Settings, Jobs, Social sharing tags is on to start with. Shared links show the job title, a short description and an image. The image is the job image or the company logo. If Yoast SEO or Rank Math is active, they add these tags instead. Click Save changes after any change. Step five. See the share buttons. On any job page, the Share card has Share on X, Share on LinkedIn and Copy link. The search details are not shown on the page. Search engines read them in the background. That is all five. Check Google for Jobs is on, give every job a location, set a country on each location, check sharing tags, and see the share buttons. Google and social sites can now show your jobs well. Next in this series: Move jobs in from WP Job Manager or a CSV file.
